Kristy Dawson, Therapist

(LPC)

Hello, my name is Kristy Dawson, and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) who enjoys collaborating with people struggling with depression, anxiety, anger management, behavior issues, substance abuse, grief, and trauma. Of course, these do not sound enjoyable, but for me, walking along side as you, try to overcome your struggles can be extremely rewarding. Our life is a journey, with many unpredictable pathways. During our journey, we undergo many different seasons of change. Sometimes we experience turbulent moments and need help, encouragement, and a fresh perspective to process and hopefully overcome. My professional goal is to offer a safe and therapeutic environment which allows you the opportunity to face those challenges to find a happier, mentally healthier you.

I have a master’s degree in professional counseling and am a certification test away from being a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor. I have been a Licensed Associate Counselor since 2020, but I have been in the mental health field for over 20 years. I have experience working with children, adults, and veterans. I am familiar with Juvenile Services, Department of Human Services, as well as Alternative School systems. I am also comfortable in a school based, inpatient, or out-patient and tele-health settings. My focuses are, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Substance Abuse Counseling, Seed Digging, Grief, Mindfulness, Strength Based, Deep Rooted Trauma, Familial Trauma, and Family Focused techniques.
