Annie Thompson, Therapist

(LCSW)

My name is Annie Thompson and I completed my Masters of Social Work in 2009 at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Shortly after graduate school, I spent a year traveling the world with a company called Up With People. I was the Education Coordinator for my cast and also performed in a live show that promoted social awareness and positive change. In 2010 I began my career in mental health and have worked in several settings including pediatrics, school-based, and clinic. I have found that I have a heart for teens and adults working through grief, trauma, and stress. I have specialized training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT) and integrative sandtray therapy (RIST). I am also a Nationally Certified Custody Evaluator Associate and a Nationally Certified Parenting Coordinator Associate. I have an eclectic therapeutic approach that is holistic and relational so that all are welcome to come as they are to begin moving through challenges.

Beyond being a therapist, I am also a wife, mother, and stepmother. I understand the unique joys and challenges that blended families bring. In my free time I love to read and write book reviews.
