Amy Shaw, Therapist

(LPC)

My name is Amy Shaw and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Arkansas, which I obtained as a non-traditional student. I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and Human Development in the early 1990s, then worked in an inpatient setting with children and adolescents for several years before taking time to raise a family. I have experience working in outpatient and inpatient settings, working with clients in the legal system/drug court, and I have many years of life experience. I have worked with individuals of all ages and from many different populations. I believe the therapeutic relationship to be a very important aspect of therapy, and seek to be unbiased and nonjudgmental while working with clients to help them achieve their goals. In my spare time, I like to focus on self-care by spending time with my family and friends, riding my horses, and camping. Being in nature helps me relax and decompress.
