My job is to help you understand the significance of your behaviors and emotions and use this to guide our journey in finding your strengths to help you be the best you! My goal is to meet you where you are, help you find your strengths, and support you in building the ability to use those strengths to face life stressors. You have already taken a step towards change by seeking counseling. I provide a therapeutic atmosphere that is compassionate, empathetic and confidential.
I have spent 15 years in the mental health field, working primarily with children, adolescents and young adults. I have worked in school settings, correctional settings, inpatient settings, and in traditional office settings. I have both my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work. I am experienced in working with various issues including, anger, disruptive behaviors, ADHD, impulse control, oppositional defiance, anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidal thoughts and grief. I’m also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), is an evidence based approach to treating trauma related problems and PTSD. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered therapy. I enjoy utilizing play therapy and sand play techniques in sessions as well.
