Elizabeth Hernandez Valerio, Therapist
(LMSW)

Hi, my name is Elizabeth. Difficult seasons in our life increase our stress, strain our relationships, affect our health, mood, and behaviors. It takes strength to choose yourself, and you don’t have to overcome those challenges alone. Discomfort is part of the healing process; however, I hope to provide a comfortable space where you can feel safe and just be. I believe in the power of human connections, and value building strong therapeutic relationships. During our sessions, my goal is to provide a calm presence so that you feel free to be your authentic self. I am a resource in your story. I will provide an environment of trust, in hopes that you will discover moments that inspire hopefulness, truth, growth, and healing. I provide therapy to adolescents, young adults, women, and adults to help with troubled relationships, life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, and trauma. I am available in person and virtually.

I am passionate about social justice and promoting well-being in individuals and communities. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Tulane University, with a certificate focus in Mental Health, Addiction, and Family. I plan to support by applying my direct experience in mental health practice, public health, and non-profit sectors. I approach therapy through empowerment, which is personally focused by using evidence-based techniques. Specifically, I use a framework based on ecological systems theory for a holistic view. I am fluent in English and Spanish and strive to practice with cultural humility for people of all backgrounds.

In my free time, I enjoy swimming, spending time outdoors, traveling, and trying new foods and restaurants.
