Summer Turman, Intern
I have earned my Associates in Liberal Arts, Bachelors in Psychology, and I am currently enrolled in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Masters Program while earning my Play Therapy Certificate at Arkansas State University. I completed my Practicum and Play Practicum at Families Inc. For my Internship placement, I have decided to dive into the Private Practice world. I will now be at Chenal Family Therapy, PLC, and The Art of Healing. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families of all ages and backgrounds. When working with children and or young adolescents I use Play Therapy and Expressive Arts modalities while using a Child-Centered approach. I also have experience with Sandtray, working with individuals on the Autism spectrum, children in Foster Care, physical/sexual abuse, Conduct Disorder, and more. With adolescent and adult clients, I implement holistic perspectives while using Gestalt and Existential practices/techniques. Overall I seek to help people develop a greater understanding of who they are to increase their self-awareness and connection with one’s self through mind, body, and spirit in order to create balance and harmony. My future goals include opening a holistic-based private practice while incorporating Play Therapy/Expressive Arts, Yoga Therapy, and Dance Therapy. If interested in working with me for Play Therapy and or Expressive Arts Therapy at Chenal Family Therapy, PLC, email schedule@ChenalTherapy.com or call 870.340.2636 to schedule an appointment!
