Melissa Baker, Therapist
Shortly after graduating from high school in 2004, I realized my career path lay in the helping profession field. After graduating from the Army Reserves basic training and AIT programs in 2005, I decided to declare my major as Psychology with the goal of becoming a licensed professional counselor. I received my BA in Psychology degree from Harding University in 2009 and my Masters in Professional Counseling from Harding University in 2012. In 2013, I became a licensed associate counselor working at various community mental health agencies and upon completing the necessary supervision requirements obtained my LPC.
I have a passion for helping adults and adolescents dealing with depression, anxiety, and issues stemming from past trauma they have experienced. I am trained in TF-CBT and am also Phase 2 Brainspotting trained which helps me to assist clients with zeroing in on past trauma triggers they are dealing with which affect their ability to interact socially and/or in their home, school, and work environments. In my spare time, I enjoy martial arts, skateboarding, hiking, camping, watching movies, playing video games, and spending time with my wife and my fur babies.
