Alison Tait

Clinical Psychologist
(AR License 16-21P)

I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults primarily between the ages of 5-25. I also treat adults outside of that age range on a limited basis. I provide individual counseling, family counseling, and parent training along with psychological testing. Psychological testing and evaluations can include assessment of ADHD, cognitive testing, learning issues, objective personality tests, and autism screening, My interests include treating stress and adjustment problems, depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and other behavior problems. For most families, the decision to pursue mental health care is one that they have considered for some time before reaching out for help. I try to approach my clients in a compassionate manner, collaborating on interventions that use their creativity, humor, energy, and strengths, while providing evidence-based care. My treatment orientation is primarily cognitive-behavioral (CBT).

I graduated with a doctoral degree in clinical psychology (Ph.D.) from Florida State University in 1992. I completed a postdoctoral fellowship in child psychology from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Wichita in 1993. I worked in a medical clinic and private practice in Grand Forks, North Dakota for 23 years prior to moving to Arkansas in 2017.  I am married to a psychologist, and we have two children in college. I enjoy reading, running, watching football, cooking, ballet and exploring the beauty of Arkansas (and warm weather).
